Robert Barnes was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1980 and was sworn in as a Bail Justice in 1989.
Robert Barnes sat on the Second Division of the Brighton Magistrate’s Court as a JP and conducted out of sessions court hearings at weekends and nights over thirty years.
His career positions have been with ICI, the Australian Institute of Bankers, the Municipal Association of Victoria and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. He was a partner at ProNed for 13 years, which identifies non executive directors for boards. Robert holds a PhD in Australian history (Governor Hunter), was a pilot for over thirty years (and flew a P51 Mustang) and has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Melbourne since 1990.
