📚🌱 From books to papayas — Rotary Melbourne in action! 🌏💪

September is Rotary International Education & Literacy Month, and our unstoppable Ruth Carlos-Martinez has just pulled off another inspiring mission. She personally collected 18 boxes of books from Brighton Library.

Those books, along with literacy supplies, groceries (think pasta + soup mix 🍲), have been carefully packed, shipped, and are now en route to Dangan, Isabela, Philippines. But that’s not all! Thanks to our tree planting and vegetation program, crops like papaya and moringa are thriving 🌳🥭🌿. These harvests, combined with the shipped supplies, are now powering a feeding program for malnourished schoolchildren.

From libraries in Melbourne to classrooms and kitchens in the Philippines, Rotary Melbourne is helping minds grow and tummies fill. 🚛📦➡️🇵🇭

👏 Huge thanks to Ruth for leading this effort and showing how literacy, sustainability, and nourishment all connect to create lasting change.
