NOMINATIONS FOR SIR JOHN REID AWARD 2020

SIR JOHN REID COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD - CALL FOR NOMINATIONS – URGENT REMINDER

More than 1.5 million volunteers are making an important impact across Victoria in building our communities, services, and connections. Rotary Melbourne wishes to pay tribute to those dedicated achievers, and encourage others to follow their lead through the Sir John Reid Community Service Award.

This award is a permanent memorial to Sir John Reid, who served our Club for over 45 years, being its President in 1953-54. Since 1987, the Award has been given each year to honour an individual in the Victorian community whose volunteer service is judged to be worthy of special notice.

The generosity of the John T Reid Charitable Trusts has made it possible for the Club to make a significant grant of up to $10,000 to the organisation where the awardee has volunteered.

To be considered for the award, nominees must:

  1. Have made an outstanding contribution to the local community in Victoria.
  2. Have volunteered their services to an organisation(s) without remuneration for a substantial amount of time.
  3. Normally not be a Rotarian and has not previously received major awards to recognise their contributions.

To nominate a candidate, please download the instructions and nomination form at:

Nominations must be received by 5pm, 18 September 2020. The Awardee will need to attend Rotary Melbourne’s lunch meeting on the 4th November 2020 to receive the Award.
