Rotary Melbourne has been supporting the five Black Rhinos basketball teams in various ways over the past four years. They were founded in 2007 by Afri-Aus Care and have been coached by Ryan Rooney.
PP Robert Fisher was invited to attend the Grand Final of the Black Rhinos Basketball League on 1 April at Olive Road Sporting Complex in Doveton. Rhinos South East took out Rhinos Gold in a nail-biting match that ended 54-47. Awards were presented by the founder Selba Gondoza-Luka, the Mayor of Casey Stefan Koomen, CEO of Violence Reduction Unit Andrea Davidson, Emma Eckhart of sponsor Bendigo Bank and Robert Fisher representing Rotary Melbourne.
