Bev is currently Vice President Humanitarian Service. Bev’s nomination was put forward by the 2021/22 Nominations Committee. There being no further nominations received, Bev is now confirmed as president Elect for 2022/23.
Every three years the incoming President leads the process of updating Rotary Melbourne ’s strategic plan. At this stage it might be said that the extension of lockdowns has made the 2022-2025 Rotary Melbourne Strategic Plan one of the worlds best kept secrets. President Reg had hoped to provide printed copies to interested members back in August! Members and friends can now read the updated Strategy on line here.

What a wonderful outcome for a large number of Rotary Melbourne members on Saturday night. We have heard that David Frieze's family enjoyed the win, sadly without David. David Jones, now Rotary Melbourne's longest serving member is also believed to have enjoyed this great win. After 57 years of heartache, the cruel irony of playing a grand final in Perth, and relinquishing an early lead to be left on the brink of defeat, Melbourne fans were afforded 20 minutes in the final quarter for reality to sink in. Spare a thought also for our members who support the Doggies. They should be proud of the fine efforts of their team in a year full of challenges to be part of this historic event.
A Perth father and son bonding over their love for snorkeling has lead to 10-year-old Rehan Somaweera becoming one of the youngest people in Australia to author a published scientific paper.
