We have a new volunteering opportunity on Thursday 9th July from 8:15am to 1:30pm at the Magpie Nest café, Ground Floor, 69 Bourke Street, Melbourne (entrance via Westwood Place) helping to prepare and serve breakfast to homeless people in the city.
The Magpie Nest Café is a welcoming community café providing free breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as support to people from all walks of life, especially those living on the margins of society.
The Café sees a range of different people accessing the service, including people who suffer from drug and alcohol addictions, mental health and general health issues, homelessness, living in boarding houses and rooming houses, asylum seekers and international students. The Café is open to everyone and is there to provide support and a sense of community to anyone in need.
The Magpie Nest café is a partnership between Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614 and the Collingwood Football Club Foundation.
There is a limited number of places (12) for this event.
Please note this replaces the regular club meeting of 8th July.
ACTION: Please contact Branko on 0407 058 306 or branko.panich@gmail.com asap, if you would like to be part of our volunteer team at the Magpie Nest café.
